This 12-year-old home in Newburgh, NY, developed a roof leak, prompting the homeowner to seek a free roof repair quote. Upon inspection, we identified two primary issues: one leak from the pipe boot and another due to missing shingles. We were happy to help solve these problems and restore the roof.
As shown in the before and after, we replaced the exhaust vent hood with a built-in damper on the roof and installed a new flex duct from the fan to the hood. The vent pipe boot was reinforced with a Perma-Boot for added protection. Before that, we removed the damaged shingles to access the plywood beneath and replaced any compromised decking. To further safeguard the roof, we applied the SealoronXT Ice & Water membrane before installing new shingles. We also secured the shingles with six-ring shank roofing nails, ensuring a firm and long-lasting hold. This thorough process guarantees the roof will protect the home for years to come! All repairs were completed using matching Pewter Gray shingles to ensure a seamless look. The Klaus Larsen Roofing company has you covered!
Paul in Yorktown Heights, NY, noticed water spots forming around his wood-burning stove pipe, and after checking his attic, he confirmed there was moisture collecting near the chimney. His roof is about 15 years old, and while it’s generally in fair condition, this new leak needed immediate attention before it caused more serious damage.
Our team at Klaus Larsen Roofing was called in to repair the affected area. We focused on a section roughly 10x4 feet around the heat pipe in the front of the house, carefully weaving in new shingles to tie seamlessly into the existing roof. We used GAF shingles in Pewter Gray to match the rest of the roof, ensuring both function and appearance were preserved.
With the repair complete, Paul can now feel confident knowing his chimney area is protected and that this new leak has been properly fixed.

To resolve the issue, our team removed the materials around the chimney, replaced the damaged wood, and constructed crickets to effectively divert water away from the area. We installed SealoronXT Ice & Water shield, new shingles, and updated the flashing to ensure lasting protection. This repair not only resolved the leaks but also enhanced the roof’s overall functionality. Frances was thrilled with the results and the care taken to restore the roof. The Klaus Roofing Way!
