Dennis in Kingston, NY, reached out to us because his roof about 30 years old, was ready to be replaced. The existing shingles were asphalt, but underneath them was asbestos material, so before any work began, Dennis scheduled a licensed removal company to take care of the asbestos. Once that was handled and we coordinated dates with their team, we stepped in to begin the full replacement. Since the shingles were already removed, we started by taking off the old cedar shakes and installing new plywood across all the shingled areas on the main upper roof. For the flat roof at the very top of the home, we used a durable modified bitumen system to give it long-lasting protection. We also removed the iron fence that had been mounted on the roof to ensure a clean, safe surface. To finish the project, we updated the home with new IKO Dynatsy Shadow Brown shingles. The result is a fully refreshed and structurally solid roofing system, giving Dennis peace of mind and a cleaner, safer home. The Klaus Roofing Way!

Our crew started by removing the old roofing materials and inspecting the plywood to make sure the roof deck was solid. Any problem areas were addressed before moving forward. To properly seal the roof, we installed SealoronXT Deck Tape over the seams of the plywood to help block moisture while still allowing the deck to breathe. We added SealoronXT Ice & Water in the most vulnerable areas of the roof, including along the edges and valleys, to protect against leaks. The rest of the roof was covered with Velora One Underlayment, creating a barrier before the shingles were installed. We finished the project with new shingles in the color Brownstone, giving Doreen’s home a clean, updated look and a roofing system built to last.
