The existing shingles were asphalt, but underneath them was asbestos material, so before any work began, Dennis scheduled a licensed removal company to take care of the asbestos. Once that was handled and we coordinated dates with their team, we stepped in to begin the full replacement. Since the shingles were already removed, we started by taking off the old cedar shakes and installing new plywood across all the shingled areas on the main upper roof. For the flat roof at the very top of the home, we used a durable modified bitumen system to give it long-lasting protection. We also removed the iron fence that had been mounted on the roof to ensure a clean, safe surface. To finish the project, we updated the home with new IKO Dynatsy Shadow Brown shingles.
