Cullen’s back porch roof in Shandaken, NY, had skylights that weren’t installed correctly. They were deck-mounted instead of curb-mounted, which doesn’t work with the low slope of a flat roof. On top of that, one was already leaking. We installed a brand-new Velux Curb Mounted Skylight System, which is the proper fit for this type of roof. The upgrade included the skylight itself, a flashing kit for a watertight seal, and a solar-powered shade with remote control for easy comfort. With the new curb-mounted skylight in place, Cullen now has a leak-free, energy-efficient solution that lets in natural light without the headaches of water damage.
