This of the view of the home, with its storm damage and buckling shingles, before they put a Klaus on their house.
Several shingles have been torn off this home due to severe storm damage. It was about time they got a new roof!
These mismatched shingles on the edge show that this roof has been repaired before.
As you can see, these shingles are very loose and easy to lift. It is clear that they have been loose for a while, due to the rotting wood beneath it.
The other side of the roof has even more mismatched shingles that are even darker in color. Clearly this roof has been patched and repaired multiple times.
Our crew gets to work stripping the old shingles and roofing materials off this mobile home.
As we start stripping the roof, you can see the old felt paper and decking.
After tearing off the shingles, you can see the old felt paper and plywood - some of which we already started to remove because it needed replacing.
With the amount of plywood we had to replace on this project, we also got to see the state of the rafters beneath all the old work.
For this low slope portion of the roof, we are beginning with placing the starter sheet of IKO's Roof-Fast Base.
After we put down the base sheet, we layer on the final IKO Roof-Fast Cap Sheet, a reinforced self-adhering membrane (SAM). This multi-layer protection is specifically designed for low-slope roofs since they are more susceptible to water damage.
This mobile home looks great with a new roof and a brand new color to go along with it.
